A campaign you're not afraid to talk about

This semester I have been taking a public relations campaign class. We got to create a campaign for Digital Bridges, an innovation center in Milledgeville, Ga. It has been quite a learning experience, and I now truly appreciate a good campaign when I see one.

Kotex has started a new campaign - U by Kotex. Their commercials on TV got me interested in the campaign. They are very funny, and every girl I have watched it with was laughing and talking about the commercial. Check it out for yourself.

Buying tampons and talking about a girl's period has always been uncomfortable and in some cases taboo. But Kotex's new campaign is ready to Break the Cycle. They are doing this in a vibrant way. The ads on TV stand out. They are noticeable because they challenge the typical tampon ad by making fun of the ridiculousness of it. Also, the packaging of the U by Kotex is bright neon colors. They stand out on the aisle. Kotex is breaking the cycle of fear.

Kotex wants to get girls talking because talking leads to awareness and awareness leads to better health. This creative campaign not only gets girls talking, but it sells Kotex products because the campaign is original. Girls remember the Kotex commercials and appreciate them, so they buy their products.

Way to go Kotex. Your campaign is one of the best out there--Kotex is helping to Break the Cycle.
