The start of a campaign...

We spent many late Monday nights brainstorming ideas for the perfect Digital Bridges campaign.

Digital Bridges is a community led innovation center supported by GCSU and the Knight Foundation. Our group was responsible for Digital Literacy. We needed to find a way to promote Digital Bridges and technology.

Coming up with an event idea proved challenging. We needed something that sounded instantly entertaining to grab the attention of people who generally shy away from computers.

Pictures. Funny Faces. Magnets. The ideas began flowing! The Photobooth program on Mac computers would be silly, entertaining, and attention grabbing. We decided to take photos of people and print them off to make a magnet. The event was a pretty big hit, especially with kids. They brought their parents over, and we were able to tell them about Digital Bridges and the many classes offered at the center.

People also got to see that computers can be fun, and we hope that fun sparked a desire to explore technology even farther.

We made over 64 magnets, gathered contact information of over 50 people, and informed nearly 80 people about Digital Bridges. Our table was consistently busy throughout the day. We were pleased with the turn out of people at the mall.

Our group came together and created a successful event because we have incredible group dynamics. Now all we have to do is put together the campaign book.
