Good ad, bad ad..either way people are talking

Super Bowl ads are the most widely watched ads of the year. This is the one time that people actually look forward to the commercials, rather than zipping through them on TiVo.

Advertisers try to reach a certain target audience, and if they fail to hook them into the product, they have wasted millions of dollars in a matter of seconds.

Watch this ad, which was played during the Super Bowl this year.

I have no idea what Focus on the Family is, and this ad gave me no desire to find out. I would have easily forgotten Tim Tebow tackling his mother if there had not been so much hype about the commercial in pre-advertising news.

The advertisers definitely got their moneys worth for this ad because of the pregame coverage. Though the commercial itself was a bust, the commotion surrounding it (before it was seen) gave it enough attention that everyone remembered it.
